Elections.

As a resident of California and as someone from an alternative religious background, I don't have much say so as far as Texas politics are concerned. I did not vote in the 2010 election and had no plans on doing so. However, as a person that likes to "be in the know", I did pay attention to the happenings of the elections in Texas and California.

As far as the race for Texas governor, Rick Perry had 56.83 % of the votes, with the closest candidate being Bill White, with 40.74% of votes. Perry, who was already governor will continue in office for another term. Texas is a majority republican state.

In California, Jerry Brown led the election for governor with 53.3% of votes. But the race for governor was not the political event that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Proposition 19, a proposal to legalize marijuana for recreational use, failed much to the dismay of those that partake in the usage of the drug. Out of all of the propositions, Prop 19 was one of the most "high profile". Although there seemed to be many in favor, those who voted decided the fate of the proposition.
